Just stumbled upon here, really neat pictures.
But one that I feel like I need to comment on, the caterpillar.
Those “eye” on his back are 2D, because they are fake. That is the coloring of their skin, evolved to help scare off predators. Their true eyes are on their head, which is the little nub at the front of the picture. Their eyes are tiny, because they don’t need to see too much, they just rely on their camoflauge to hide them.

For Goodness Sake, can there not be one f-ing thing on the internet that doesn’t turn into an atheist-theist debate? Just look and the pictures and enjoy. If you give a damn whether they were created by random mutations or designed by some omnipotent being, that’s great, but KEEP IT TO YOURSELF

Wow the language of evolution is amazing. I want to learn all about how these pictures were taken – I have a macro feature on my camera but I have no idea how or when to use it!
