25 Motivational Posters (Part I)
By Village Mayor • Nov 22nd, 2008 • Category: Funny, Latest Post, The Best of Village of JoyThe intent of motivational posters is to make people achieve more, or to think differently about the things that they may be learning or doing. (wikipedia)
I can’t say they motivate me to be more or less productive but they make me smile. And if you having one of those days glance at these posters and I guarantee they will make you smile too.
Some posters might have “stronger” message then others but it’s not the picture to blame…

Does anyone else HATE IT when people, like pastabake, use “begs the question” incorrectly. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY. begging the question is a phrase used only in regard to circular arguments…not in regard to a question that should be asked. GRAH!

These are great. My employer required us to post the “motivators”, we put them up next to them. Keeps the company moral up.

Ahahaha, “Sick of Idiots” is brave enough to think about using CUNT but lacks the prunes to spell it out. (Apologies if you were trying to mask the word “cult.”)
And, as many others have so helpfully pointed out, the format deviates from the original Successories concept, this is true. Pissing about that is failing to consider that a.) Successories is hardly a company to defend, and b.) the construction and function of the internet meme.
B is especially important. Memes are fleeting and so must pack their most powerful punch as early as possible. Much like the Wacky Packages fad, the result will resemble, but not work completely like the original. This is part artistic license and partly the desire for instant gratification. Especially with the popularity of the StumbleUpon button, funny-image-makers really can’t afford the luxury of requiring their viewers to think. This takes too much time and time is laughter. Skilled craftsmen know this.
Now, I am by no means excusing the motivational posters who try too hard for the automatic laugh. Disappointingly, the motivational posters featuring some of nature’s funniest objects (women who are fat and/or ugly) are usually of the lowest quality. This, I think, is a mixture of amateur eagerness and truly antisocial, deeply held social values. Some motivational posters just miss the mark.
I think I might go beat my husband now, just because I can.

Hahahahaha….. very inspirational, in case of humor! Not really funny though haha….
January 13th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
Of course they’re photoshopped you stupid cu*t. It doesn’t take away from the hilarity though.
January 8th, 2009 at 11:27 am

January 7th, 2009 at 12:57 pm

Wonderful and very funny
December 30th, 2008 at 1:13 am
So lemme get this straight–one of the OLDEST internet memes of the past decade has been “discovered” by newbies. Instead of arguing over content/accuracy/lexicon, etc., howzabout we catch up with what the vast mysterious interwebs have concocted THIS millennium. Just a suggestion.
December 29th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
These are some of the best of those out there. The last one is my favorite.
December 27th, 2008 at 8:08 am

Whether or not it is the correct moniker there is nothing ‘conventional’ about a microwave. This also begs the question of what a non-conventional oven is and more so why the ‘traditional’ oven isn’t also the conventional one.
Personally I think that the poster is incorrect and the picture is actually one of a combination oven, one that has both a microwave and conventional oven facility … and that the photographer mistakenly took a picture of the controls for the conventional oven part.
December 24th, 2008 at 12:59 am
hey good collection man…i liked it especially the one about money…
December 23rd, 2008 at 6:06 pm

November 29th, 2008 at 8:00 am
I like how the Time Machine motivational poster says microwave but it clearly says Oven Timer over the button he is about to push
Hi DDP. before you try and be a smart ass. Iit actually says CONVENTIONAL oven timer. and a CONVENTIONAL oven is AKA a MICROWAVE.
December 2nd, 2008 at 6:24 pm

November 30th, 2008 at 2:54 pm

So I read all these comments newest -> oldest and thought, holy shit, I can’t wait to see the crazy comment Debbie must have made to make everyone so rattled, and all she said was a crappy sentence about not liking some of them?! How UN-contraversial can you get!?
Biggest anti-climax EVER
The f*ck it I’m going home was the funnies,t I thought anyway, some were a bit crap as the pics had more potential but there are so many of these flying through t’internet that I’m none too scathed

November 25th, 2008 at 9:35 am

November 25th, 2008 at 3:18 am
I love (de)motivational posters when they are done right but many of you have no clue. Here’s a hint. The only (de) motivational poster of the whole lot is the one with the main title “Inspiration”. The one that is titled “unique” comes pretty close – but not quite.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:05 am
Hedgehog expert, notice the word “and” in Vince’s post? Also, did you read the post he was agreeing with? For an expert, you really should consider looking closer at things.
November 23rd, 2008 at 2:27 am
You have no sense of humor
